In Greek, the word for Butterfly is Psyche (Ψυχή),
the same word is used for spirit and soul.
The root from which psychotherapy takes its meaning.
Together, they speak of an ancient truth:
that the soul’s journey is a metamorphosis—
a quiet unfolding,
a shedding of what was,
and a discovery of something new.
My approaches.
I am a psychotherapist in Lexington, KY, who utilizes trauma-informed, trauma-specific, expressive arts, and psychodynamic modalities. I see myself as a partner with you in your healing journey. I am here to help you tap into your own inner resources and strengths and to be an attuned and empathetic space to explore and work through painful and overwhelming experiences in a way that brings resolution and comfort. I have experience both professionally and in a ministry context working with couples, complex trauma, survivors of human trafficking, youth in foster care and their families, and new and soon-to-be parents. I often work with other helping professionals, including therapists and those in pastoral positions.
